The project
Glengall Road, located in the London Borough of Southwark, is a new student living development for the London School of Economics and Spark Living, being constructed by EQUANS.
The 15-storey scheme will provide 676 student bedrooms and studios, as well as commercial space on the ground floor. Amenities will include a gym, cinema room, external courtyards, laundry facilities and shared kitchens in the cluster flats.
Once construction is complete, EQUANS will take on a 50-year facilities management contract to oversee ongoing maintenance and building services.

Continued partnership with EQUANS
This contract marks the third major student accommodation project awarded to Offsite Solutions by EQUANS.
With a value of £1.6m, the Glengall Road order brings the total number of pods delivered to EQUANS to over 2,000 – across a combined value of more than £5m. Previous projects include a £200m regeneration scheme for the University of Leicester and Pritchatts Park in Birmingham, creating energy-efficient student homes for the University of Birmingham.
The bathroom pod solution
Each GRP bathroom pod for Glengall Road is designed with durability and ease of maintenance in mind – ideal for student living.
Pods include:
- A bi-fold pivot shower door
- Wall-mounted D-shaped hand basin with glass shelf and mirror
- Sliding rail shower
- Silver grey vinyl floor
- Grey solid surface vanity shelf
The pods are fully finished at Offsite Solutions’ Somerset factory and scheduled for phased delivery from spring 2023 through to autumn 2024.

The benefits of GRP pods for student schemes
GRP bathroom pods are particularly well suited to long-term assets such as student housing and build-to-rent developments. Their low maintenance needs and robust construction help lower lifecycle costs and reduce on-site labour.
Offsite Solutions remains the only UK pod manufacturer to use a unique panelised system for GRP units. This design creates true 90° corners and vertical walls, improving aesthetics, allowing use of standard door sets, and eliminating the tapered wall effect found in single-mould pods.
