GRP Composite Bathroom Pods
GRP bathroom pods are specified for projects where robustness, longevity and ease of maintenance are the primary considerations. These pods are widely used in the student accommodation, affordable housing, military, healthcare and hotel sectors.
GRP pods are proven to reduce the operating costs for serviced apartment schemes by at least 90 per cent compared to in-situ built bathrooms.
The capital costs of GRP pods can be up to 20 per cent less than steel-framed pod solutions, helping developers and apartment operators to meet their budget requirements as well as reduce maintenance costs.
Design Features
- A panelised construction – unique in the UK – creates vertical walls and 90° corners. This feature allows easier integration and the use of standard door sets without further work on site. It also improves aesthetics by avoiding tapered walls which you have with pods created from single GRP moulds
- This type of construction allows a realistic tile-effect finish or recesses to be incorporated into the design of the bathrooms
- A waterproof bunded base
- Vinyl flooring can be laid edge-to-edge for a higher quality finish
- Cabinet carcases can be post-formed as part of the GRP pod, ready for the addition of door fronts
- Offsite Solutions’ GRP pods use only premium quality, marine grade and WRAS-approved resins and gelcoats in the manufacture of the GRP composite panels
- The wall and ceiling panels contain a honeycomb polypropylene core which significantly improves rigidity, is fully waterproof and not susceptible to delamination
- The pod exterior is fitted with horizontal strengthening battens and adjustable lightweight steel rails to facilitate the fixing of dry lining.

Expanded Range of Tile-effect Finishes for GRP Pods
The design options available our GRP composite pods now extends to five tile-effect finishes. This widens the scope of factory-finished GRP shower rooms and bathrooms for the private rental sector, which can now feature up to two of the following finishes:
- Mosaic
- Square
- Larger format landscape or vertical
- Brick-bond metro tiles.
These tile-effect finishes are all integral to the pod carcase and so avoid the need for grout and tiles in the wet areas.

- An extensive library of standardised GRP pod designs is available to save time and cost by using the repetition of offsite manufacture
- Bespoke GRP pods can be designed and manufactured but tooling costs will apply so this solution is more suited to larger-scale projects
